Lines written by Henry McCallister, 1742, succinctly describing living conditions in Talbot County as he saw them, shortly after his arrival from the Isle of Man. He came as an indentured servent for the British firm of Foster Cunliffe & Sons of Liverpool; later worked for Robert Morris, Sr., their factor at Oxford.
