Nick had sold his house again.
It had been a miracle that house had lasted for more than five months. It wasn't his style to keep a house for more than one or two months. That's not a style but to him, it had become a regular schedule to go on house hunting every now and then. Howie would always try to get some time out to accompany Nick on the trips. He knew that Nick wasn't the type of person to pay attention to small details. He could help him by offering his views on the property which they're viewing. Moreover, Howie was a small expert on housing properties. Whenever Nick sold a house and ended up having no time to hunt for a new one, hotel would become his second home. In fact at a young age, he had stayed at almost all the hotels throughout Europe and America. As he gets older, it occured to him that hotel was probably the best place to stay in because he had to travel so widely. There's so much convience when you're staying at a hotel. Room services are only a call away. Resturants are a few floors and steps away. You don't have to worry about coming back in the wee hours because no one would be staying up late and wait for you to come home. And a deep frown would form on Nick's lips whenever he thought of that. He envied his four brothers. Kevin and Brian had real homes to go back to after tours. Soon, AJ would be forming his own family too. Howie just moved into a house with his new girlfriend. All except Nick had a home. Nick's not an orphan. He have a good family of parents, siblings, cousins and many other family members back in Florida. Well, if you want, call it the rebellious period of an young adult. As much as he loved his family, building up his own home was his ultimate dream. He wondered often on what a home was all about. A nice number of essential furnitures, a fully equiped kitchen to prepare food, a few pets making noises in the house and a person waiting for him to come home after each day of hard work. However, all the houses which he have bought and sold have never completly fulfilled those requirements. Well, the last one to be excat: a person waiting for him to come home. During random times, he gave in to the loneiness and crawled back into his old little corner at the Carter's residence. His own nest did gave him enough of that warmth and love which he craved for. Sometimes, he wished he could stay with them forever. But that desire to carry on the search for his true home never ceased. Someday, he remind himself endlessly, he'll own that home. For now, he'll just keep searching. | ||||||
