Vectronics VEC-102

This is the Vectronics Vec-102 Kit. It is a very Simple kit to build and fun. I have confermed a few station via QSL using this rig. Take a look at the inside here on the right. Lots of room in that box. This radio has the old regeneration control allowing for AM,SSB,CW and RTTY reception. ,

Price:    $60-$70 Quality of parts:  Good Skill Needed: Basic electronic skills. Overall look with case:  Excellent Pros: Cost effective and easy to build. AM,SSB, CW, RTTY and yes I did receive a SSTV picture. Good for casual  SWLing. Case is all metal with five band scale. Cons:  No internal speaker. Band switch shaft was a bit too long for the knob. Regeneration is smooth but still has that whine or whistle that is all regen kit have. Over all Grade: B+
