LS1 Conversion: The motor in my 2000 Isuzu Vehicross has shot craps... spun a rod bearing to be exact. I have opted to convert to LS1 V8 power from a 2000 Camaro Z/28 along with the transmission and whatever other support gear goes with it (accessories and whatnot). Below are pictures of my 2000 Isuzu Vehicross (#0145). So far, I have only done a couple things to it. I have added Nitto Terra Grappler tires, 285/60/18, to the stock 18" rims. They fit quite well and only needed slight trimming of the cladding in front of the front wheels. There is no rubbing whatsoever even on full lock-lock turns. They perfrom great off-road and IMO haven't affected the on-road performance enough to think twice about the swap. Other than that, I have added a Power Vault muffler which gives the VX a nice little growl. Sounds great when you get on it, but I found that even on a 1300 mile (one way) trip and back, its not too loud to deal with.
