DragonBot Version 1.4

for use with mIRC

NOTE:If you downloaded the bot V1.3 it is buggy please get version 1.4 it should have the bugs ironed out *crosses fingers*

* Fixed Script not loading and gor dictionary not working in V1.4

* Fixed pathnames for XP users in version 1.2

* If clicking on the file does not work for download, right click the link and choose "save target as" to download the files

The Full install includes the mIRC files as well as the bot files, if you install this, the bot will be ready to run out of the box so to speak.
On a side note, the wonderful people at goecities have decided not to allow me to upload an exe file so I have had to zip the exe's. They still work, just unzip to your desktop or where ever then install by double clicking on the file.

The minimal install (no longer made) has all needed files for the bot, but no mIRC files. If you use this install when you load up mIRC you will need to type
/load -rs dragonbot.ini
To install the bot in your mirc program

The Ezinstall version (EXE) includes such nice features as easily changable install directories, uninstall program and folders in "programs" on your startup menu.

Directory Installation Note

Please, if your going to install the bot to another directory or change the name of the bots directory, make sure you know how to work the zip or exe programs to do this. This bot will always unzip to a folder called DragonBot.

This is how the exe installation should look, Notice that DragonBot *IS* in the path, if you do not include it here, the bot will install to your Program Files Directory with no folder, and pieces will be all over.

Zip Installation

This is how the zip installation should look, Notice that DragonBot *IS NOT* in the path, if you do include it here, the bot will install to C:/Program Files/DragonBot/DragonBot . This in itself is not a bad thing but you MUST make sure you install it to the same place every time

Installing to another Directory

Lets say I run 3 bots and I like to keep them in a bots Directory called IRC_Bots on my computer.
exe Correct

To install them to that directory using winzip I would put in the path
C:\Program Files\IRC_Bots\
This will mean that the path to the DragonBot Directory is going to be
C:\Program Files\IRC_Bots\DragonBot\

exe Correct

To install them to that directory using the exe I would put in the path
C:\Program Files\IRC_Bots\DragonBot\

Changing the directory


With the exe installation, you can change the name of the install directory easily instead of
C:\Program Files\DragonBot\
you would simple type in
C:\Program Files\ANY_OTHER_NAME\
To change the name in the zip instilation, you could install it to the default directory then change the name of the directory to the new name you want. but upgrades etc would be difficult to do.
