so lets see, what has happened in the past 3 years since i last updated this site. the white sox won a world series and i got to go to game 2. after 3 years of living with the family i finally moved out of the parents house to logan square with my cousin for a few months. last month i signed a year lease to live with the thomas brothers in lovely lincoln park.
i am still at the same company working on insurance rather than package good products. about 10 friends have been married and now own homes, one has a child on the way. i bought a queen size bed, this is important cause its the first time since i was in 7th grade that i fit on my bed without having my feet hang over the end. this weekend was my first 5k, in fact the first race of my life. its nice to set goals and follow thru with them, i swear i will even read angels and demons at some point in my life. other than that 3 years is a long time gap and way to much has happened to write about.
what to expect from this site? lets see, since it was dormant for 3 years i am going to give it a fresh layout and update it once a week. i figure its probably a good way to keep in contact with people other than facebook and myspace.
yesterday while i was on the train i picked up a copy of the redeye that was left on the train. while i was thumbing through the paper i stumbled on this picture of karen and judy at keegan's. it seemes all the redeye pictures of people at bars shows them laughing for some reason. so if you didn't get to see a copy of the picture there it is.
work this week was nice and slow, but it is just the calm before the storm. all of january i should be expecting to put in some good hours. it will all be worth it though.
the new year is coming up and my plans are to head out to kevin's cottage in michigan for a little drinking. should be a good time and it sounds like there is going to be a big group. the first should be a big day with iowa playing in the capital one bowl at noon and i have bulls tickets for that night. it will be a nice busy weekend to kick off 2005.
as for 2004 i will give a brief recap of the big events that happened in my life. first hell froze over and the boston red sox won a world series. i finally have a job with a great company. helped coach a couple of 8th grade basketball teams. my car blew up on i-290 coming home from arlington heights. won 100 dollars in the lotto. 4 people i am friends with got engaged.

ever done anything to make 2,000 people laugh at the chicago theater? i have. while entering into the theater for our big company function cameras were following people entering in and showing it them on the big screen located over the stage. well one of the people in our group brought in a cell phone flask full of vodka. while we were waiting for the show to start we our group was passing around the cell phone. it gets to me and i take a shot out of it, well one of my bosses sitting next to me elbows me and yells your on the big screen. great i think as i look up and there i am larger than life finishing my shot. well people start laughing and then i started screwed the cap back on and acted like i was taking a call. a good enough cover up to make the entire audience laugh. my bosses said it was one of the funniest things they have seen at this event. i love my job.
when i have a moment of free time away from work i have been watching a lot of movies and heading out to the bars. last week i went to see the new natalie portman movie closer. it was very close to being better than drumline (which is the greatest film ever made, yes i am serious). the movie is basically how all relationships are filled with lies and cheating. fun stuff huh.
last night was spent at keegan's with what turned out to be a big group of friends. it seemed people kept crawling out of the wood works. i ran into some people that i have not seen since grammar school, which normally happens on the south side.
plans are in the works for the traditional trip to marshal fields walnut room for dinner and visit to santa. kids are lucky these days. while waiting hours in line to see santa they have all these great models and interactive displays around the waiting lines. when i was a kid you were stuck in between metal bars winding around until you got up to santa.
if you noticed i cleaned up the site and put all the old logs into the archives, so check them out. i also finally updated the 10 list from the summer

first, congrats to my cousin meg and husband patrick on their wedding. it was a great time and it was nice to see all the family. it was the first of a long lines of weddings i will be attending in the next year or so.
congrats also to hynek and judy on their recent engagement. mike did a great job of suprising judy and all of us. also my last entry i talked about another couple that recently got engaged, but i left out their names until it actually happened. congrats pete and jenny! the last few nights have been spent hanging out with the couples.
on friday c mitch, wielzco and i headed out to soldier field to watch br. rice in the prep bowl. it was an early morning spent tailgating with other rice fans. rice ended up beating lane tech pretty easily.
thanksgiving was a great time, and we are still eating left over turkey. it is amazing how many dishes you can make with left over turkey. my favorite has always been stuffing which there is a full tray of sitting in my fridge.
things at work are going smoothly and will get extremely busy in the next few weeks. along with the special projects and regular work load i will be training the person who is taking over my old job. it should be stressful and fun at the same time.
yesterday was spent shopping at orland with katie. its amazing how much one can spend when they need to buy a full work wardrobe. the sales people were smiling when i walked in every store. i am sure my credit card will be happy to get a break today.
