International Yasha

Being the big hit that it is, naturally "Inuyasha" has been dubbed into languages other than its native Japanese. So, here you will find a showcase of sound clips of dubs from around the world. Some may make you look at your own language's dub in shame, while some others might make you realize that it COULD have been worse.

If you have the ability to make clips from a dub language that isn't represented here (besides Japanese), feel free to inform me. Make sure you tell me what language it is, what characters are represented, what episode it's from, and if you can, approximately what they're talking about in English.

English
Inuyasha gets a little vulgar while fighting his brother (episode 45)

Sesshoumaru tells Rin not to move, and she takes it a little too literally. Beware of wacky name pronounciation all around. (episode 45)

Inuyasha learns the price that comes with a demon's power (episode 52)

Kagome is happy that Inuyasha is alive and expresses her gratitude the only way she knows how. (episode 58)

Spanish
*Sesshoumaru makes a deal with Naraku. (episode 18)

*Sesshoumaru fires off a Kaze no Kizu with a feral scream. (episode 18)

*Shippou throws everything he's got at Jaken, including an untranslated "Tsubushi Goma"! (episode 18)

Wow, Kikyou sounds really... o_O (episode 23)

Now you too can say "osuwari!" in Spanish. Or, "down", rather (episode 23)

Congratulations, Kohaku, you are now a man (episode 24)

Naraku offers Sango a Shikon shard (episode 25)

Hiraaaaaaikotsu! (episode 25)

Inuyasha berates Sango for falling for Naraku's trick (episode 25)

Italian
Apparently the Italian dub got to keep the Japanese attack names, like "Sankon Tessou" (episode 6)

Maybe it's just me, but Jaken sounds like an old woman. (episode 6)

The Italians get more bonus points for being able to pronounce names right, too. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha have a "friendly" chat. (episode 6)

Inuyasha tells Kagome that the giant skeleton in front of her is his father. (episode 6)

German
The Germans went the translated attack name route. This is the translated "Sankon Tessou". (episode 6)

Sesshoumaru talks all high pitched and giggly. No, I'm serious, this is Sesshoumaru. (episode 6)

Just can't get enough of Sesshoumaru's German voice. Now he's doing a soliloquy on Tessaiga. (episode 6)

Inuyasha and Shippou argue. (episode 16)

I'm sorry, I just love how they pronounce Naraku's name (episode 16)

This is... apparently Naraku's voice. He suffered the same fate as Sesshoumaru, it seems. (episode 16)

And, of course, since this is the episode where Miroku shows up, I have to include the "bear my child" line. (episode 16)

Jaken tries to figure out whether or not Sesshoumaru was testing his sword on him or not. (episode 35)

"Heh heh... Tenseiga." (episode 35)

First they translated "Sankon Tessou", and now they don't. o_O (episode 35)

*Kagura introduces herself. (episode 45)

*Sesshoumaru tells Rin she can move, then ponders the Toukijin (episode 45)

*Kagome sits Inuyasha to bring him to his senses. Yelp, puppy! (episode 45)
