Hi, my name is Sam! I'm a small, two-year-old, blue and white IG with eyes that match the color of my coat. And since the end of June, I've needed three surgeries to fix my broken legs.

I was dropped off as a stray at a shelter in New York City with a broken right front leg. After two painful days without medical attention, IGCA Rescue was called and my foster mom came to pick me up. She immediately took me to an orthopedic surgeon to fix my leg, but unfortunately that surgery failed and I had to have another operation on that leg.

I have been crated or confined to an ex-pen since the end of June to let my leg heal (doctor's orders). Finally, my leg started to heal and I was able to leave my crate once in a while. In fact, I felt SO great that I decided to take off and run down a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, when I hit the landing, I broke my other leg.

So, I've just finished my third surgery since June. I will be staying with my foster mom for about six more weeks, and then I would love to find my forever home!

As you can see, I'm a delicate but active little guy, so I would do best as an only dog. I would not be good with children, since I could get hurt. I am very friendly to everyone so I would do well in the city or country. I do have a little separation anxiety -- I bark sometimes when left alone -- so I wouldn't do well if I was left alone for 8 hours during the day. I am very healthy, very sweet and I love to hug!

My foster mom would greatly appreciate any contributions that you may be able to make to help to defray the cost of these costly surgeries! You can send any donations to her at:

Please make all checks payable to IGRF Rescue. And thank you so much for stopping by to meet me!
