Isn't this layout cute? I actually started this layout three months ago. The reason why I didn't finished it earlier was because I couldn't figure out how to make the layout look nice. Trust me, this layout did not used to look like this. I was cleaning out my computer when I came over this project. I was this close of trashing my project and keeping my mouse (the whole point of this layout was for me to make a mouse and put it up as a drawing in my portfolio).
Anyways, I used the circle tool the most (see a bunch of round things?). I think I only used one custom shape (the flowers). I love manipulating shapes and making a doodle out of them. By the way, I think I do better in everything if someone's talking to me. When I was trying to make this layout look nice, I was actually listening to my friend's talking over the phone to me. I also was able to concentrate on working on my Calculus package when my other friend was talking to me over the phone. I'm A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Heh.
I spent around...3 hours on the design (I'm guessing the "trying to make the layout nice" took 2 hours of the 3) and about 3 hours on the coding. It would have took me longer to code if I had to start from scratch for the content. You see, I coded a layout similar to the content section (a table within a table within a table) for this layout someone's requested. However, I couldn't figure out why my layout kept messing up in Internet Explorer (darn you IE). I thought...maybe I messed up somewhere in my table coding. Guess what it was? It was my h2 properties. I was about to put the h1 and h2 text into another table which would have made this layout even more complicated. But luckily, I figured it out. Hehe. I hate coding.
I made this layout in Adobe Photoshop CS2. This layout is compatible in Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Opera. I know there are differences between the h1 and h2 text in the different browsers. But it doesn't look so bad in Internet Explorer. |
