We completed our 5th year! Thank you so much to our sponsors, participants, and all the volunteers who help to make this one of the most successful events in Grundy County for raising money and awareness for the Illinois Special Olympics! The Run the Beat 5K proceeds go to benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The course is paved, fast, and flat. The last half mile is a slight down hill for a great stretch to the finish! Distance is USATF certified. Race is a CARA Registered Race. Food and music are provided. Tshirts guaranteed to every preregistered participant. Discounts for CARA members and those who register on line. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers. Medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers in 16 separate age catagories! From 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, etc. to 80 and over. Parking available in Goold Park and the Morris High School parking lot located across the street. |

Message to the 2007 participants: Thank you for participating last year! We were very happy with the turn out. I'm sorry we ran out of shirts and bags, but we did not expect the huge turnout on the day of the race. Ordering additional shirts and getting them sent out was not possible because of the cost. Please preregister for 2008 to guarantee your shirt and any other goodies provided. We will make an extra effort for 2008 to have additional shirts on hand day of the race for our last minute guests.
