There are some counties in California that will provide a copy of adoption records if one or both of the adoptive parents requests it, in writing, notarized.  Find out more.

The registry owner is also a member of the American Genealogy Society and provides professional services to historians and family genealogists. I do charge for my services as a genealogist, but my fees are very reasonable and are determined on the project requested and time required. As a resident of Sacramento, I have easy access to a wonderful selection of records through the Sacramento Library, the California State Archives, and a number of other resources. Be sure to register with the International Soundex Reunion Registry. It is the world's largest and most successful mutual consent reunion registry. Registration is free, but they do accept donations.

There are many people who give freely of their time to help California searchers. I will be adding their names here as time progresses. There are also regular search agencies that charge a fee for their services, and a number of them are very reputable, with a “no find/no fee” policy. Beware of investigators or searchers who ask for more and more money and give you little or no results!
