The fact is teenagers can make wise choices about drug and alcohol usage, dieting, sexual promiscuity, and other issues pertaining to respect for one’s body. But what choices are they making? And why are they making them?

"Aftermath", from the pen of a 17 year old inner-city youth, sheds light on the lives of 7 young people as they face daily choices about substance abuse, promiscuity, diet, other social issues and the inevitable consequences of the choices they make. Knowledge is power – arm you students with the power of positive choices. "Aftermath" shows young people the awesome power in every choice they make.

The "Talk Back" session, with the actors following the performance, further aids students in expressing personal, artistic, sensitive and vital responses to the social issues and artistic work of others in addition to an effective social awareness drama and cultural experience. GTT’s Social Awareness Theatre program is unique in that while it promotes a healthy message regarding "respect for one’s body" it also broadens the student’s cultural awareness through exposure to professional quality theatre and the arts. Not only do students walk away with a new fresh out-look on social issues they also develop an appreciation of theatre and the performing arts as a crucial form of human experience.
