Shroud of Turin

The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe to be Jesus of Nazareth. Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist? Modern, twentieth century science has completed hundreds of thousands of hours of detailed study and intense research on the Shroud. It is, in fact, the single most studied artifact in human history, and we know more about it today than we ever have before. And yet, the controversy still rages. This web site will keep you abreast of current research, provide you with accurate data from the previous research and let you interact with the researchers themselves. We believe that if you have access to the facts, you can make up your own mind about the Shroud. Make sure you visit the page where you can Examine the Shroud of Turin for yourself. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here

ST. PIUS X... Guiseppe Sarto, 1835-1914

The life of this man was spent in the Service of God. The inscription on his tomb, in St. Peter's reads:

"Born poor and humble of heart, Undaunted champion of the Catholic faith, Zealous to restore all things in Christ, Crowned a holy life with a holy death."

Guiseppe was born in 1835, in a town near Venice. He was the eldest of eight children. His intelligence and high moral character attracted the pastor of the local church who arranged scholarships for high school and the seminary. He was ordained in 1858. He went from parish priest, pastor, Chancellor, Bishop, Cardinal, and in 1903 to Vicar of Christ. As Pope he exhorted bishops to reorganize seminaries for the best possible training for these men, the future teachers of the faith. He promoted sanctity of Church music, Catholic action, frequent reception of Holy Communion, especially at an earlier age, (Pope of the Eucharist) teaching of Christian Doctrine, and a systematic exposition of the errors of 'Modernism.' He died in 1914 and was declared a saint in 1951.

ST. RITA, 1381-1457 Saint of the Impossible, Victim of Physical Abuse

St. Rita, a saint with family problems, was married at the age of 15. Her marriage was planned for her by her parents. Her husband was a man with a violent temper which developed into brutality. He often kicked and struck his young wife for no other reason than he might be angry for losing at gambling. She had two sons who despite Rita's influence, turned to the evil ways their father taught them. Her husband died a violent death but repented before he died. Her sons died at an early age but not before they repented and received the last sacraments. She eventually entered the Augustinian convent. At the age of sixty years old, a small wound appeared on her forehead, as though a thorn from Christ's crown of thorns had penetrated her own flesh. For the last 16 years of her life, Rita fore that external and painful sign of stigmatization and union with Christ. She died on May 22, 1457.
