| It appears that there will more than likely be a war against Iraq. The links above will either change your opinion of the war or will further cement your stance on the possible, if not, imminent war. Understandably, no one wants to go to a war unprepared, or without good reason. Nor does anyone wish for innocent lives to be lost. But sadly in that case, it is already too late for those whose lives are already lost. It is an irrefutable fact that Saddam Hussein is a dictator. There is also no doubt that he is responsible for the murder of thousands of many innocents already. It is also no secret that he should not be trusted. Saddam Hussein by all accounts is an evil, crafty dictator who has had over a decade to hide evidence of weapons of mass destruction, including chemical warfare. No mistake, he is an enemy to the United States. That is why right now we need to take this time to pray for our nation, pray for our leaders, and pray for our troops. Whatever your opinion of our leaders are, prayer does change people and situations. Pray for God's will in this situation. Ask God if it is His will that we do not have war. Also pray for our troops overseas. Ask God to protect them and to comfort their families wherever they are. Pray for the people of Iraq that they will live in a democratic nation free from any and all oppression. Pray that God will soften the heart of Saddam Hussein; pray that there will be godly leadership in that nation. In fact, pray for Saddam Hussein and for the rest of the Iraqi leadership. Pray for those in the United Nations and for those in the Middle East. Those in the Middle East need to know the truth about Jesus Christ, for He is the Son of God. Pray for believers and for Jews in the Middle East, that they will be protected from all harm and strengthened in times of attack. Pray also for Israel, for peace and continued prosperity. One of the seven astronauts who died in the Columbia space shuttle explosion was from Israel. Israel is I believe a true ally to the United States. I also believe that the United States is Israel's only true ally. I ask for wisdom for our President that he will no longer compromise the truth. I ask that you would pray for our leaders, NASA, and for the families of those who lost their lives yesterday. My prayer is that the tragedy that occurred yesterday was not due to terrorism. Also, I pray that NASA would do more to prevent further tragedies from happening. I also pray that tragedies such as these and a possible war with Iraq will strengthen ties with Israel. I also pray that it will also strengthen our nation. Whatever your opinion, my prayer is that we all realize that God is the One in control. If you do not know the Lord and desire to know the Lord, even if you have accepted Jesus once before, just know that God does exist. Confess that Jesus is Lord. Believe that God raised Him from the dead. Repent. Turn your life over to Him. (from Romans 10 and Matthew 3). I ask that you would please pray this prayer. " Heavenly Father, I believe that you rose Jesus from the dead and that Jesus is Lord. Lord Jesus, I ask that you forgive me of all my sins. I ask that you would save me. I surrender my life to you. I believe that you are the only one who has all the answers. I ask for wisdom and direction in my life. I thank you for saving me. In your name, Jesus, Amen." |
