Matthew 5:10
" Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:12
"Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
John 15:20
"Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."
1 Peter 4:11-13
"11 If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. "

The Great Nation of China is a nation of 1 billion residents that has a problem that should be called attention to. China in the past few years has been the subject of criticism because of its human rights record, though mainly with how it is treating Tibet. Though I find it interesting that many of those same nations that criticize China not only have a questionable history or human rights record, but rarely do they and other nations call on China because of its persecution of Christians.   I also find it interesting because China has recently relaxed its iron rule over the nation.  But if a nation is still Communist and ruled by the same people, then it is still Communists.

Communists are not only known for their heavy-handed rule, but they  are also well-known for being atheist and China is no exception.   Many Christians in China have been arrested, beating, and even executed for their faith.  If something like this were happening in the United States or our allies, then something would be done about it.  This is wrong, and something needs to be done about it.  If famous people can sing for Tibetan freedom and people can protest about their rule over Tibet, then we as Christians can do something about what is going on China.

What can be done?   One thing that can be done is prayer.  Pray for these persecuted Christians, for they are your brethren.   Also contact our leaders that people will be free to worship.   Call to attention to what is going on in China and other nations.   Do some research into the organizations and ministries that have information on those who are being persecuted. Call attention to the persecution going in China, and the rest of the world by having those in the home, study group, church, classroom,  pray, donate, or start and organization to call attention to those who are in need.   Be not ashamed of the Gospel.
