Bingley is a small market town situated in the Aire Valley of West Yorkshire, home of the famous Five Rise Locks (see picture to the right). Guiding has been popular in this area for many years. There are nineteen units in Bingley mostly in the surrounding villages. We are one of the smallest Divisions in our county of West Yorkshire North.

One of the villages in the Bingley area is Cottingley home of the Cottingley Fairies when two small girls are said to have taken photos of fairies. Unfortunatley this turned out to be a hoax, however the myth still lives on. There is a film & video about it all called ' The Cottingley Fairies'.
