The Smithsonian Institute - The Institution is as an independent trust instrumentality of the United States holding some 140 million artifacts and specimens in its trust for "the increase and diffusion of knowledge". The Institution is also a center for research dedicated to public education, national service, and scholarship in the arts, sciences, and history and this site reflects it.
NASA Internet Edu. Resources - NASA put together a list of site links for U.S. teachers and it's truly a bookmark treasure. Lots and lots of information about science, space, grants and educational programs.
Museums Online - These sites belong to members of the Art Dealers Association of America and deal primarily in paintings, drawings, sculpture, graphics and photographs from the Renaissance to the present day. The Vatican and museums in 12 countries number among their members.
Educational Hotspots - A fantastic list of brain-wrinkling educational interactives for fun learning experiences.
Clever Games for Clever People - These games are designed to increase your mathematical abilities and if you play them enough, you will become so completely clever at them that you can always have a strategy that will win (as long as you don't play them with someone who is quite as clever about them as you are.)
Art Resources - This directory is meant to serve as a resource and jumping-off place for people interested in art, and in the possible relationships between art and technology. Nat'l Museum of the American Indian - A Smithsonian presentation site full of interesting, colorful exhibits and videos. If you are or have an interest in the 'First American People' you'll love this site.
