The mission of this web site is for the public awareness of what is happening in the Criminal Justice System in the USA. There are thousands of individuals making claims of abuse by state and federal investigators. Many State agencies now make recordings of all custodial interrogations, however, federal investigators almost always refuse to do so. The result of all of these unrecorded interrogations is that many innocent people go to prison. Currently in the United States there are approximately 2.8 million people in federal and state prisons, most for non-violent offenses.

Many victims of investigator's harsh tactics admit to things they did not do while others claim that they never made statements that investigators attribute to them. Unfortunately, even unrecorded and unsigned statements are admissible in a court of law. These statements put the burden of proof on the accused instead of where it is meant to be: the prosecution.
