Brief history of Grant County:
     Grant County, West Virginia is located along the western edge of the state's Eastern Panhandle.  Created out of the conflict known as the Civil War.  The county bears the name of one of the war's illustrious warriors, Ulysses Simpson Grant, who later became the 18th president of the United States.  Grant County came into being on February 14, 1866, after separating from Hardy Co.

If anyone has knowledge of any cemetery in Grant County PLEASE email me:  Judy     jckim@frontiernet.net     It does not matter if the cemetery has one or a hundred graves or if it is an old one or new one or even if the stones are not readable, I would like to know about it.   Doesn't matter if you know who is buried there or not.    Just email me with the directions as best as you can of where it is located and the name of the cemetery, if known.     Ask your friends and neighbors if they would know of any.  I need your help in locating all the cemeteries in Grant County even if I can't survey the persons buried there it will give me a location of where a cemetery is or has been.
