In the game that pitted the final two unbeaten teams left in the tournament against each other, Needy came out with the close win against the Centurions this Wednesday night.  In the opening half of the game it looked like it might become a GCCC tournament instant classic as the score was all tied up as the half ended. But in the second half Needy jumped out to a quick lead aided by some very hot outside shooting by Drew Stevick.  It looked like Needy had everything under control until Centurion's sharpshooter Micah McBride came up with several clutch treys in the final minutes to draw within one point, although it was just too little, too late as Needy held on just long enough for the win.

Amalekites claim victory,  continue to advance
The Amalekites were running on all cylinders as they beat Philemon this Thursday night.  Led by some great shooting by Nick Whitehead and Cole Davis, The Amalekites pulled away early and never looked back for the rest of the game, coasting to the big victory.  They will be looking to have the same kind of team performance against team Jordan this week, which looks very likely to be an exciting match-up.

It's Time to Play Ball!
Another year, and the 2004 Grace Basketball Tournament is ready to go again.  We have another good field this year, and are looking forward to some great competion and lots of fun.  The teams have been decided, and the bracket is fillled out;  we're ready to go!  If you were wondering the outcome of last year's tournament, nobody won.  Because the tournament is true double-elimination, Jordan, the one-loss bracket winner, would need to beat Needy twice to claim the championship.  Jordan won a good game the first time around, but the next game was never played.  It was continually delayed, until both teams agreed to a split championship.  While this may remind you of the college football BCS problems, have no fear.  We look forward to crowning a new champion this year in the 11th anniversary of the GCCC 3 on 3 Basketball tournament.
