Broadway Show Discount and Reviews Here are some shows I've seen, scroll down to the end for the discount section
Beauty and the Beast By far one of the best shows I've seen to date. The show follows the movie closely with a few numbers not shown in the movie such as the song "Human Again". The costumes, special effects and signing combine to make this a memorable experience for children of all ages Blue Man Group "Tubes" Just plain fun. A perfect mixture of comedy, sight, sound and guys with blue faces. Just a heads up there is audience participation and 2 members from the audience are picked to go on stage. Also, you don't want to arrive late for the show or you'll see;) Stomp The performers use broomsticks, garbage cans and ordinary household utensil to create a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy. Just a tip don't sit in the first few row or you may feel like the performers may fall off the stage on top of you. The Lion King The use of puppets, masks and Elton John/Tim Rices songs make this production a memorable experience. There are a few new songs in addition to the old ones. Rent The story is set in the early 90's and revolves around arist friends in downtown New York who refuse to pay the rent. The show is about relationships among friends and lovers. It was an ok production. Criss Angel Mindfreak Used to play in the WWF theater. It was a cool futuristic type magic show. The $20 seat where we sat, were as good as the higher priced ones. Criss Angel was very cool as he stayed to talk with the audience and shake hands after the show. Aida This is for a more grown up audience than the first 2 Disney Broadway productions. The story follows a tragic love triangle between Radames a general and would be king, Aida a slave girl who hides her true identity of Ethiopian princess and the Egyptian princess Amneris. We see each character grow during the course of the story. Cabaret Seating is mostly in seat and tables with drinks served during intermission to simulate a real cabaret (Just a suggestion, I wouldn't buy the drinks from here the one I had was watered down) .Studio 54 becomes the "Kit-Kat Club", a seedy nightclub in Weimar Germany where we can see how dark times can draw the darkness out of people Into the Woods This play ended on Broadway in Decembers 2002. This production mixes up several of the Grimm's fairy tales together such as little red riding hood, Jack and the beanstalk and the Bakers's Wife to form a new tale. I was fortunate to see Vanessa Williams play the witch in the play. De La Guarda-Villa Villa The music was good and the seeing the actors fly in the air was a treat. The actors encourage you to dance in various parts of the show. Prepared to get wet, not Blue mans Group wet but really wet. I do think the ticket prices should be more reasonable for a 70 minute show. Cirque du Soleil Vareka This show was excellent. The trapezes act, high flying and comedy were all first rate. The winged twins soaring above the audience steal the show. Murdered by the Mob Worth the money you get dinner and a show for the price of your ticket. For dinner, the only problem was the dessert which were cookies. The show was funny and various members of the audience had to participate The cast sit with you during the show. I did not guess who did it even when they told us who it was a the end.
