Artists' Open Houses
in the May 2008 Brighton Festival

Railroading To The Wrong Side Of The Tracks

Curtis Tappenden and others at 17 Clyde Road

Beyond the Level has become one of the main Open House attractions in the annual Brighton Festival. Now in its 15th year and 17 houses plus three studios strong, Beyond the Level aims to showcase the work of an ever-growing community of practising artists and designers living and working in Brighton. Situated north and west of The Level recreation area, the group aims to provide visitors with quality original arts and crafts in informal and homely settings at affordable prices.

Please note that the houses do not generally accept credit cards, but cash or cheques with a guarantee card are welcome. As these are normal domestic properties, we are unable to offer specialist access for disabled visitors but will endeavour to give appropriate assistance when required. You are welcome to call houses in advance if you wish to discuss your requirements. Why not pay us a visit?

Opening times: 12noon–6pm, on the 3&4, 10&11, 17&18, 24&25 May unless otherwise indicated.

For the second year running, The Dragonfly House was voted Best Open House, this year with Compass Bars sponsoring the award. In 2006 The Dragonfly House was awarded Best Open House in the Latest Festival Awards and 8 Rosehill Terrace was one of the final three nominees. They were selected by a panel of representatives from Juice 107.2 FM, BBC Southern Counties, The Argus, 3 Weeks and The Latest magazine.
