Cleaning up the surface of one of those small desert washes, funny how
the gold is in one
wash but the next one over has nothing, must be close to that lode outcrop
what-u-think.
Here I'm screening the material that came out of the Vac Pak cause the gold here is small.
Running that material through my bellows drywasher,
this drywasher is great! I just dump
it in and set back and wait for it to puff on through. Take the tub and
rerun it once more
for good measure and then let that run hit the ground. (material was slightly
damp)
These bellows machines aren't near as noisy or dusty
as the constant air types but they
do a fine job of recovering gold. Those buckets are free at any bakery
they come in 2,
3, and 5 gallon sizes. I'm aliking the 2 gallon size for hauling material
around, those 5 gal
ones are sure hard on the back.
Emptying that riffle tray into the tub, another good reason
to have a tub. Its wide and works
at many jobs, here and for panning later. I collect a few of these and
put them in the cut off
milk jug at the right, take it back to camp and let my Gold Gal pan it.
Notice the black sands.
Here is some of the gold we got that afternoon, not a lot
but it was fun anyway.
Remember this is recreational prospecting, I don't think to many people
are going
to make a living at this unless they are extremely lucky and work at it
24/7.
Here are three new puffers two battery powered and one hand powered.
They all have galvanized steel hoppers for easy feeding, the smallest one folds up nicely.
Here it is folded up, this little puffer will fit inside a 5 gallon bucket.
