Feeding
Disorders
A resource for parents whose children won't eat.
Sometimes, children won't eat....
Sometimes, children refuse food.
Sometimes, children will eat only certain foods and refuse most others.
Some children don't know how to chew or swallow.
Some children have a physical disability that does not allow for normal
eating habits.
Some children will throw temper tantrums to avoid eating.
Some children will sit for hours with food in front of them without ever picking up the spoon or opening their mouth.
Some children would rather suffer than eat.
These are all symptoms of a Feeding Disorder.
Many people don't realize that this is an issue.  Many have not heard of it.  It is an age-old worldwide problem that is just now beginning to be understood and treated.  These children have been starving themselves since the beginning of time, but it is only recently that researchers, doctors, and specialists have taken notice and made it a priority.
This website is designed especially for parents and caregivers of children who display symptoms of a feeding disorder.  Whether the symptoms appear mild, or seem to have turned into a full blown ordeal at mealtimes, your child needs help.
Get your child the help they need.  There are so many more resources out there for this kind of problem than there was just five years ago!  Parents - this website is made for you, so that you can find what you are looking for, for your child, to get them on the road to a nutritional, healthy, happy life.
- from someone who has worked with these children and their parents, and seen both the devastation you feel from watching your child refuse food day after day to the joy and relief you feel when your child smiles because they are full.
