On December 3rd, 2004, a beautiful baby born was born to Daniel and Michelle. This was their first child and our first grandchild. This little boy brought joy to all his family, the perfect Christmas gift!
Mitchel was a happy baby from the day he was born and to us was perfect in every way. He was a quiet little boy, only crying when hungry or in need of changing, and had the cutest little cry when he did. But little did we know that Mitchel was very sick.
On January 3rd, one month exactly to the day Mitchel was born, i received a phone call from Michelle, to tell us that Mitchel was very sick, was in hospital and that the doctor's didnt think he would make it. My world stopped with that one phone call and did a downhill spiral in the following days to come. This is the world of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy).
After many tests were done, Mitchel was diagnosed with SMA Type ! at one month old, and on January 8th, 5 days later, Mitchel earned his angel wings, and we lost the most precious thing in our lives.
Many people never got to meet little Mitchel, but he touched the lives of everyone . I know he will forever have an impact on my life, and will never be forgotten!
