I have finally gotten off my grieving ass and put up the caps that only serve to remind me that a) my favouritest show ever is over and b) my favouritest Manly Man is gone. *sniff* I miss ya, Agent Doggett.

Wow. A season has come and gone already and a new XF era has begun. The Doggett Years. Let me just say how pleasantly surprised I was to discover that, yes, this COULD work! A die-hard phile from day one, I admit I was uncertain when I heard the plan- bring in a new guy, sprinkle the old guy over a couple of eps, make the lead chick pregnant. Ok, so the last one sucked! *grin* As some guy named after a hamburger meal once said, "Two out of three ain't bad."
Mr. Patrick- thank you for being in every episode and doin' all the talk show stuff whilst carrying yourself with class and humility. I haven't been so keen on an upcoming XF season since Season Five, and that, without exaggeration, is due to you.
Hey, I know it's Hiatus Hell until November, but keep checking in every so often anyway- who knows what little bits of insanity I might add to keep me amused until.. Nov.? .. Whenever?

Almost a year to the day. You know, it's almost 9pm here and I know I'll put in an ep from season 8 or 9 in by the time the big hand hits the 12. I just can't let go. And the thing is, it's not the show itself I'm missing most- it's Doggett. I had all but given up on this show in season 7. The convoluted myth arc. The self-parody that became lessons in scenery chewing. Actors who obviously had grown as tired of portraying their character as I had watching them.
And all it took was one ep, one look, one actor to get me back into it again. Now it's over, all too soon. It's been said many times on other sites, by those more eloquent than I, but it bears repeating. Agent Doggett, we hardly knew ye, and that's a real shame. As for RP, I can only hope that it's not the last we've heard of him. And if his conduct and work ethic on The X-Files stands for anything, we haven't. I can't wait to see what he does next.
Excuse me, but I've got to go put a tape in now. *sniff*
