You will find your information for this assignment on the web sites linked to this page, as well as resources in the library.
Choosing your role
Next! Each person in your group chooses ONE ONLY of the following to research.
Next!
Write your contributions to the travel journal of your group.
And then!
Working as a group, mind map the information you have gathered in your individual roles onto one big mind map.
Record your bibliography of all the print and electronic sources you have consulted.
Using the information on group's mind map, create a joint response to the question:
What are the main problems in the Amazon Rainforest and what suggestions do you have for their solution?
This response will take the form of a five minute oral presentation to the class. All members of the team are expected to take part. You can use multimedia, such as Powerpoint, if you wish.
When you have completed this WebQuest, you will have:
knowledge of the geography, climate and biodiversity of the tropical rainforest ecosystem.
an awareness of the indigenous people of the tropical rainforest and an understanding of their culture.
an understanding of the economic and social issues surrounding the use of tropical rainforest natural resources.
