Welcome to the Examine the Evidence home page. As the title implies, the purpose of this website is to "examine the evidence:" everything from biology to geology to archeology. Hopefully, this site will show that the Bible and Science are not opposites, but can even be "brothers."
Many believers are struggling with the idea of Evolution and their faith. On the other hand, many Evolutionists believe there is no evidence to support the Biblical account of Special Creation. This website was designed to guide, direct, and most of all, to change. The Bible instructs believers to "test everything" (1 Th 5:21 NIV), which is what this site was written to do.
In addition, the secular world has many misconceptions about Creationists I intend to clear up. "Christians are generally misunderstood, regularly impugned, and widely misrepresented" (3). Also, many evolutionists mistakenly assume creation has no scientific basis. This is based soley on bias and miseducation. In Behe's book called "Darwin's Black Box," Behe states that intelligent design is a "serious scientific alternative" to evolution. In addition, many evolutionists have misconceptions about the creationist theory. "Creation scientists do not suggest, as some evolutionists mistakenly claim, that life has remained virtually unchanged since the time of creation" (1). This is merely one of hundreds of examples.
Finally, I want to challenge those who believe in evolution to examine why they chose to believe it. "Few students are exposed to alternative thinking, and most simply accept evolution as fact without question," (1) and I intend to change this as well.
Throughout this site, "evolution" will sometimes be capitalized, while other times it won't. When evolution is capitalized, it describes the kind of evolution that results in new features, or new species. This kind of Evolution remains unproven and unobserved, and is therefore theoretical. The lowercase "evolution" refers to true evolution, or Change Over Time. This kind of evolution includes species variation and other changes in genetics. It never results in anything more complicated, new features, or new species.
Friday, November 11th at 7:00, Holly Hills Bible Church is pleased to introduce Dr. Edward Boudreaux as its monthly speaker. The title of the lecture is "The Origin of the Chemical Elements from Water," and is expected to be very interesting.
Dr. Boudreaux received his PhD from Tulane University in 1962, his MS from Tulane University in 1958, and his BS from Layola University in 1956. He was professor of chemistry and chemical physics for almost thirty years at the University of New Orleans, and has held conferences and seminars nationally and internationally.
On December 9th, Dr. Gary Parker will be giving a lecture called, "The Metabolic Miracle." Dr. Parker is a Professor of Biology at the Institute for Creation Research and an internationally renowned speaker on creation. He was the head of the Science Department at Clearwater Christian College in Florida and served on the science faculty of the Instufute for Creation Research for twelve years.
There will be a video made of Dr. Boudreuax's and Dr. Parker's presentations avalilable in VHS and and DVD format for a donation of six dollars.
As always, there is no cost to attend the lecture, and free refreshments will be served after the meeting. The RMCF (Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship) library will also be available. The meeting starts at 7:00. Holly Hills Bible Church is located at 2400 S. Holly St., Denver.
