Thank You Very Much!
Looks pretty good doesn't he?  Photos can be deceiving
Vinnie was rescued from a 4 week ordeal of being chained at an empty residence with no food or water.  Neighbors called the local authorities, but no one did anything.  Finally, the right neighbor saw Vinnie, and rescued him.  She was unable to keep him as she has small dogs and pits are known to not do well with other animals.  She called me.  I picked up Vinnie and he is in the process of recovering, and learning how to live on a farm with many other homeless animals.  If he can't be trained, I will find him a good home with adults and no other pets.  He is a very gentle dog with my husband and me.  Mean, even in his weakened state with the other dogs and cats.  Already has bit one of my dogs, poor old Max who seems to be the one everyone picks on.  He is the only really harmless dog I have.
Below, you will see what is not evident on the photo above, the REAL Vinnie.  38 pounds of bone and skin that should at least be 60 pounds.  December 29, 2002

Vinnie's Best Bud - Walter

10 days at the Buckeye Farm.  He's doing great and gaining weight.  Had to loosen his collar quite a bit to accommodate his increasing neck size.  He is a sweet Pitbull!  He weighs 47 pounds - January 9, 2003.
Vinnie is up to about 60 pounds now, February 2, 2003.  There is no evidence of rib bones, and even his tail is starting to get hair.  I have been very sick for 3 weeks and have not been able to get more photos, or to train Vinnie, but we can't wait to get him trained so he can run the farm yard with the other dogs.  He sits in his 20x50 foot pen and watches the others run around.  He sometimes cries to them.  Hopefully, it won't be too much longer.  He is doing much better when he is in the museum.  He hasn't peed in there now for 3 weeks.  Although the other day, he acted like he wanted to, but when we say "no" he pays attention.  I thank all of you that care for Vinnie and his rescue.  This truly is a remarkable story for us.  I hope he acclimates to the other dogs, but we do have an alternate plan if he doesn't.  Vinnie is still a very sweet (although very hyper) Pitbull.

If any of these photos don't come up, you know that little red X, right click and then left click on "show picture" and it will load.  I am so busy, and many of these pictures are just too large to load properly, but I don't have the time to fix them right now.  Please wait for them to load.  They are worth it.  Such a beautiful, loving dog, that was given a second chance at the "Last Chance Animal Rescue" at the Buckeye Farm. Donations would be highly appreciated or you could email us for the link to our catalog. All proceeds go to the Rescue..  We are a non-profit organization and your donations are tax deductible.        Thank you !
Here's Vinnie kissing me, while I am trying to show how broad his chest is.  That would be 12 inches!!!!
