What's New

I was married on April 21'st of this year to Alison Joy Okken.  We are expecting our first child in February!  Please pray for the health and safety of my wife and child.  I am currently seeking work with my company in Dallas, Texas.  We might have to pick up at any moment and get our tails there.  Moving to Texas with an expectant mother in August could be a real adventure!

Projects/Initiatives/Thoughts

Over the years I have worked on numerous self-initiated projects.  This type of technical experience is sometimes hard to convey on a one or two page resume.  I have decided to start documenting some of these in more detail here.

• Extremely Flexible Oracle Monitoring (XFIM) - My attempt to build the perfect Oracle monitoring tool.
• Free Oracle Certified Professional Training - I am leading a project to provide high quality Oracle training on the web for free!
• Compass Tool for J.D. Edwards OneWorld - Advanced table browsing utility for OneWorld.  An good example of the types of tools I like to quickly create when I find I'm in need.
• Automating Estimate/Compute Statistics for Oracle
• Excel Dump (Access 97) - This application uses an ODBC connection to quickly dump tables from any database to Excel.  Also creates an index page.  This can all be uploaded to the web and shared with others quickly.  This is a great way to share database performance/configuration tables with others so they can help you spot trouble!
• A Trace Procedure for Oracle - Automates setting SQL_TRACE=TRUE on all sessions since a point in time to ensure you are capturing the data you need.
