"YESTERDAY-TODAY-TOMORROW"
Yesterday is gone forever, today is the history for tomorrow..
It is up to us, in this generation; to put our family genealogies together for the generations to come.
If you will notice, some of the best genealogies that have been researched and recorded stop around the 1800’s. From the 1800’s to the present day, it is hard to find any information. So it is up to "us" to find and record that information for "our" descendants!

Welcome to our home!
Come on in, sit down and get acquainted, coffee’s brewing and ice tea in the fridge! I have been working on our family genealogies for a few years now and have met some very nice cousins and friends along the way and hope to continue adding new leaves to our ever growing tree.
My name is Elizabeth Chappell Mock, better known to family and friends as "Betty". I am married, for 40 yrs this past July 8th, to a great guy named "Earl". We met while he was in the Navy stationed in New London, Ct. It was Easter weekend in 1960 when we met and were married a few weeks later in July. We traveled the east coast of the U.S. and did a tour of duty in Asmara, Ethiopia for 2 yrs, during his 20 yrs in the service.
We have been blessed with seven wonderful children, five sons and two daughters. The oldest son is married with a lovely wife and 13 yr old son and step-daughter. The oldest daughter is married to a up an coming accountant, with two gorgeous daughters, age 10 and 6 yrs. The youngest daughter is married to a prison guard, and has a delightfully energetic daughter. Our 20 yr old son is getting married in November to a charming young lady. That leaves us with three still un-attached sons, one 36 yrs, one 28 yrs and our baby who just turned 18 this September.

I started genealogy as a way to leave my children a history of where their father and I came from and who their ancestors were. Little did I know it would get to be a full time hobby and quest! The more I learn, the more I am possessed to search further and further.
I have found that tracing one’s paternal lines is a lot easier than tracing that of the maternal lines. To make it a little more difficult for me, my grandmother married a man from the Azore Islands (in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Portugal). They didn’t stay married long and never stayed in touch after my mother was born. His name on mom’s birth certificate is "Manuel Corey" age 23, which would make him born about 1887. He changed his name we believe when he immigrated from "Correiro" or something similar. I would dearly love to find some information on him. All I have is that in 1910 he was living on the Tockwotten Street in Providence, RI with another Corey. My grandmother and her "Eolin" family also lived on Tockwotten and my mother was born on Tockwotten Street. "Eolin", is another of my maternal lines that has come to an abrupt standstill. The only Eolin’s that can be found are the very "few" in RI and NY still living. There is "NO" history to be found on them at all!
The family names that I have researched thus far are from my father’s family of "Chappell", my grandmother’s second marriage to the "Maynard" family from Ct. to RI and back to Ct. I am also still researching my husband’s "Mock" family from Pa, SC, Ga to Fla. In my Mock and Maynard files, I have only recorded data that has been so far documented in one way or another, thru birth/death certs, census records, bible records or probate records. In my Chappell file, there is still a lot of "un-documented" data.
Take your time and browse thru our family trees. I hope you can find someone here that will link us together, as I am always looking for new leaves to put on our tree. Please get in touch with me if you find such a link.

"My Chappell Heritage"
This page is dedicated to my parents and siblings, who all passed from this world to early in their lives. Dad and mom never got to see or hold their grandchildren. This has sadden me greatly as I have watched them grow into adulthood without ever having known my parents and their aunt and uncle.
My brother was killed in an automobile accident in the prime of his life, he was 36 yrs old. He left behind two beautiful little daughters. They never got to have or feel the love and protection of their father as they grew to womanhood.
My sister died from a blood clot on the brain due to a complication arising from a surgery on her leg. She was only 35 yrs old. She left behind a husband and five adorable children. The oldest daughter who wasn’t much more than a young teen was left to raise and care for her siblings.

Our MOCK Heritage
I have researched my husband’s Mock family back we believe to George Mock b. abt 1740 in Germany. We have pretty well followed a paper trail of documents from South Carolina into Georgia where he died. As most births were not recorded in Georgia until well into the early 1900’s, I have had to rely on death certificates, wills, court papers and state census records to follow each family, document where and when they were last seen in each area. I am extremely grateful to other "Mock" researchers for helping me in this search, without them I don’t think I could have gotten this far!
