This is an application written in the Java Programming Language that allows the user to schedule downloads of file from hyper-text tranfser protocol (http://...) or file transfer protocol (ftp://...) locations.
The main two main advantages of the DownloadScheduler are:
To use this application you must have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.3.1 or higher installed. If you do not have the JRE installed, you can get one here. A quick way to test is if you have java and/or the right version is to open a command prompt and type java -version + enter, if the command is unrecognised, you need a JRE , and if the version is less than 1.3.1, you will need to upgrade.
Once downloaded, to execute the application (assuming the JRE is also installed) type at the command prompt in the directory containing the ds.jar file javaw -jar ds.jar. Alternatively, create a text file (usually with notepad) in the same directory as the ds.jar file, with the above command in it. Save the file as "ds.bat" (quotes included), then you can link a shortcut to it.
The DownloadScheduler is free to use, no crippling, no timeout periods! :D Just please don't pull it apart (read: reverse engineer) and take credit for work I have done. The software is provided as-is, and I will not take any responisiblity for any consequnce that may occur from you using this program.
