Ext. - Super market parking lot - day
It's an average day, not too cloudy, not to sunny. a Mother and her 4-5 year old daughter can be seen walking toward the entrance of the store.
The girl seems restless as she bounces up and down, runs around, and hangs from the front of the cart.
As they reach the entrance and the automatic doors swing open, the mother snaps at her daughter. She's had enough of her Childs-play.
girl's mother:
Now you behave, or no more Bon-Bon.
Int. - super Market - Day
The girl, naturally, disapproves of her mothers orders, however, not wanting to lose Bon-Bon she makes an effort to settle down.
After a couple seconds of behaving, the girl decides she's had enough and is back to clinging from the cart, and finding all sorts of resourceful ways to use the shopping cart as a toy.
Suddenly, she stops. Something has caught her eye. She makes her way over next to a display. She peeks from the side, trying to hide.
On the other side of her glaring stare, is a boy around her age. He's also shopping with his mother. The boy seems transfixed on the girl also. They glare at each other; love at first sight.
GIRL's mom:
(interrupting)
Let's go Eve. I'll get you some Cocoa Puffs if you behave.
The mother grabs EVE by the hand and drags her away from the display. The girl tries to fight her mother but the mother's grip is to strong. Finally, EVE stops struggling and gives into her mother's might.
They continue to walk through the store until, out of the corner of her eye, little Eve spots a gigantic red apple. This apple is not your every-day red apple. This apple is the biggest, juiciest, reddest apple you've ever seen.
Eve runs directly towards the apple, as if pulled in by some divine light illuminating from the fruit. She grabs the apple and runs off.
She searches up and down every isle, until finally seeing the little boy from before, standing erect next to a frozen foods display.
Eve makes her way over to the boy, while slowly moving the apple behind her back. She gets close enough to the boy so that he can feel her behind him. She waits for him to fully turn around, and acknowledge her presence.
She pulls the apple from her back, slowly revealing it to the boy, who's face lights up at the site of such a heavenly fruit. He licks his lips in anticipation.
The girl lightly shoves the apple in front of the boy again, as if to say "take it, it's yours".
The boy hesitates not, and quickly takes the apple and holds it up to his mouth. He takes a giant bite.
He chews, and then his face turns sour with displeasure. He spits the apple to the tile floor.
EVE seems confused as she tries to assess what just happened. The boy, not knowing what to do, freezes stuff and stares into EVE's eyes. The silence is broken by the screaming of a frantic mother.
BOY's MOTHER:
Adam! Adam, honey. Let's go! I don't want to be late to my yoga lesson!
ADAM turns to the direction from which the voice originated. He turns back, flashes EVE a smile, and hands her the apple as he runs off to meet his mother.
EVE stands there, alone, and confused. She turns the apple, to see a giant worm wiggling it's way out of the apple. A little scared, she drops the apple to the tile floor. And as the worm wiggles its way out of the apple and into the world, EVE runs off to meet her own mother.
EXT. - Same super market - day
The store as we saw it before. It's been almost fifteen years and nothing has changed. A guy around 19-20 years old patrols the supermarket. Cleaning and dusting.
A girl, about the same age walks into the store. She walks around, shopping for fruits. Somehow an apple from the apple stall falls to the floor. They both reach down to get it. Adam's hand touched the apple first. They jolt up on contact and look at each other. Pretty strong moment, love at first sight.
Finally, the girl breaks the silence.
GIRL:
Umm, Hi...
(looks at name tag)
Adam. My name's Eve.
FIN!
