"East Wind Foundation For Youth is committed to serving the inner-city youths 
of Los Angeles with experiences that promote cultural heritage, academic achievement, 
athletic enhancement, and community involvement."

7/4/08	The East Wind 36th Anniversary Banquet was held at Mayflower Restaurant. This was a very memorable day for all those who attended as we celebrate 36 years of rich history and moving forward.
6/2008	Congrats to the following East Wind graduates: Alan, Angie, Beau, Chris, Kevin, Wayne, Nicole, Tanya, and Thomas. Winners of the Castelar Elementary writing contest received their awards at the culmination ceremony.
2/7/08	Gung Hay Fot Choy! East Wind wishes everyone a prosperous and lucky year of RAT 2008!
12/15/07	East Wind Annual Xmas Celebration and Dinner! All members celebrated the joy of giving and receiving!
11/3/07	The career development program hosted a mock interview workshop at Alpine Park. The workshop was free of charge and open to the community. The workshop taught participants important inteviewing skills and techniques.
10/27/07	EW members enjoying a fun and exciting day at the annual Alpine Rec. Center's Community Halloween carniva.
10/14/07	The members of lion dance/martial art team celebrate another victory at the annual Karate Classics tournament.
8/24-8/26/07	Annual camping trip to Camp High Sierra, Mammoth Mountains. The crew enjoyed a variety of activities including hiking, fishing, building a bond fire, and cooking. But most importantly, they learned to appreciate mother earth and not take our environment for granted.
8/18/07	Randal Quan, co founder of East Wind, presented a leadership seminar that lasted three consecutive weeks. The seminar is open to the community and is free of charge. The seminar discussed ways to become an effective and strong leader of the 21th century.
7/14/07	East Wind performs at Lotus Festival's Asian traditional culture dance main stage. Afterwards, the EW dragon boat team competed in the grueling and energy-filled dragon boat race!
7/4/07	It's that time of the year again--a wide selection of food, activities, and fireworks--4th of July BBQ Fiesta!
6/29/07	Annual award ceremony for the high school and college recipients of the East Wind College Scholarship Award and Robert Bob Lee, Sr., Professional Trades Scholarship, and one male and one female member selected for the Gim Chee Lew Memorial Recognition Award to acknowledge his/her martial art and lion dance excellence as well as leadership skills.
6/23/07	Mar Elepano from USC School of Film Production presented a workshop on animation. The workshop was open to the community and the participants, mostly college and high school students were very receptive and excited to hear about industry on animation.
6/20/07	Sifu Ron and a few of the senior members presented the awards for the writing contest at Castelar's graduation ceremony.
5/5/07	Guest speaker George Lui from a mechanical consulting firm did a presentation for the youths in our career development program regarding field of mechanical engineering. Afterwards, we were very fortunate to have Randal Quan, retired LAPD captain and currently working as an attorney, to do a presentation on job interview techniques.

1/2007	Happy New Year 2007! Thanks to everyone who continued to provide support and feedback to our programs! We are anticpating another big and successful year for the foundation.
