| Along with saxophonist/composer CHARLES WATERS, Andrew is a founding member of the Atlanta-born new music ensemble, GOLD SPARKLE BAND. He is also a member of WILLIAM PARKER'S "LITTLE HUEY CREATIVE MUSIC ORCHESTRA," and other creative projects in New York City such as Andrew Barker's "ACID BIRDS" with Jaime Fennelly and Charles Waters. Since moving from Atlanta, Ga. to New York City in 1997, Andrew held the drum chair for several months with trumpeter ROY CAMPBELL JR'S quintet, "TAZ" in a weekly engagement at the legendary Halem jazz club, the Lenox Lounge. In addition, Andrew has performed with MacArthur Foundation award winner KEN VANDERMARK, saxophonist / composer JOHN ZORN, ASSIF TSAHAR'S "ZOANTHROPIC ORCHESTRA," violinist MAT MANERI, pianist MYRA MELFORD, and the legendary bassist of the "Revolutionary Ensemble," SIRONE (Norris Jones), Andrew's mentor. Other colaborations have included performances with MATTHEW SHIPP, BUTCH MORRIS' "CONDUCTION ORCHESTRA," guitarist THURSTON MOORE of Sonic Youth, and recorded with legendary saxophonist SONNY SIMMONS.
