Women's International Linkage on Disability
D-WILD (Women's International Linkage on Disability) is an international e-mail list group for WOMEN with disabilities and WOMEN allies. Women from different countries exchange experiences, information and ideas on issues related to women with disabilities.

When you post to this list, you are reaching disabled women from around the world.
Announce! Inform! Question! Problem Solve! Discuss!
It is what WE make it!

D-WILD is co-managed by two volunteers, Barbara Anello, a WWD from North Bay, Ontario in Canada and by Rebecca, a young WWD from Madison, Wisconsin in the USA.

D-WILD has screens membership requests. While some members wouldn't mind male members on our group some other members have been abused by men or just don't feel comfortable discussing some issues openly with male members around. We just want to have a little place where all women can feel safe to share ideas and feelings. So, you must be female to join but you don't need to be disabled to join. A disability can be physical or mental.

A FEW RULES

* The list members come from many backgrounds, ages and beliefs so all
members most be tolerant and respectful to all members opinons even if you disagree with that opinion. No flaming ( calling members names, personal attacks on another member, starting fights just for fun)

* This is NOT a romance, sex or internet pick-up group. The topics of sex may come up but this is not a place to activly look for a date.

* Posts should not be passed on to people off the group (this means by forwarding by email or printing) unless the post clearly states to pass the e-mail around. This keeps what we say in our group in our group. Another way to try and make all members feel free to talk openly.

* Some adult language and topics  may occur occasionally in emails. Over use of inappropriate language will not be allowed.

* No SPAMMING or sending numerous emails unrelated to the topics of women, health, and the daily issues of the disabled.

* If you have negative issues with a member go to them privately ( off list ) or to the list owners.  If you think a member is abusing the list come to the list owners. Otherwise, we just get non productive disagreements. Disagreements about subjects are productive stimulating debates but gossiping about a member or making unnecessary negative personal remarks is a waste of list space.

*Please note that some of our members use screen readers so we ask new members to post using plain text format rather than HTML/Rich Text Format (NO fancy fonts, coloured text, or backgrounds please)

*The list does NOT accept attachments.

* When posting to the list by using the "Reply To Sender" option
we ask list members to delete the bulk of not all of the trailing
text from the previous message you are responding to. Failure to do so creates difficulty for members who receive digest delivery making their daily email from the list unnecessarily long and cumbersome to read through.
