What you will need for this tutorial
A. Jasc PSP 7, Get 30 day free trial download here
B. Wood patterns. Get them here and unzip them to your patterns folder in PSP
C. Selections and tubes here. Create a folder in your selections folder in PSP and name it cart and
unzip your selections to the folder. Unzip your tubes to your Tubes folder or where ever you store them
1. Go to file and click on new. Use these settings to open up a new screen
(you can reduce the size of the entire image later)
2. At the top of your screen click on the word layers and then on New
Raster Layer to create a new raster layer.
3. Go to selections and click on load from disk and choose InsideWheels. Now flood fill them with
black. Deselect
4. Create a new raster layer and click on selections like before and choose InsideSpokes. Flood
fill them with #963504. Deselect
5. On a new raster layer open up selections again and choose InsideRims. Flood fill them with gray
#COCOCO. Now go to effects, Texture Effects, Scupture. Use the silver preset. Shot below
Click on colors, Adjust, Brightness and contrast. Setting the Brightness settings below . Deselect.
6. Setting layer 1 as invisible, and you do this by clicking on the
glasses in your layer palette creating an X, merge layers 2, 3 and 4
together as visible. Name that layer Inside Wheels.
7. Create another raster layer...Go to seletions and click on CartFront. Flood fill it with a
wood pattern of your choice. Now adjust the Brightness and contrast as before with the same
settings. Deselect.
8. On the same layer choose CartBody from selections and flood fill with your wood pattern. Deselect.
9. On a new raster layer choose CartEdge_Short. Flood fill with wood pattern, go to Inner Bevel
in Effects-3 D and use the setting as in the screen shot below Deselect.
10. On that same layer go get CartEdge_Long and flood fill it with the wood pattern and do the Inner
Bevel as before and deselect. Making layer 1 and the Insidewheels layer invisible merge layers 2
and 3 as visible and name that layer Cart.
11. On yet another new raster layer choose selection WheelAxils and flood fill it with black. Deselect.
Here is how it should look
12. We are now ready to do the OutsideWheels. With a new raster level created go to selections and
get Outsidewheels. Flood fill with black...Deselect.
13. Put the OutsideSpokes from selections on a new raster level and flood fill with #F56313.
while they are still selected go to inner bevel and use the setting as the screen shot below. Deselect.
14. On another layer choose OutsideRims and flood fill with gray #C0C0C0. Use the same effect
as before Texture...Sculpture...silver present...same settings. Deselect.
15. On the same layer go get from selections Hub1 and flood fill it with black. Now go get
Hub2 and flood fill it with gray as above. Again use the Sculpture texture with same
as above. Go to colors and Adjust Brightness and Contrast and use the setting below. Deselect.
16. Merge all layers together except for Layer 1. Name it cart
17. We are now ready for the details. On cart layer go get CartDecorations_Small and flood fill
with the color of your choice... I used black.
18. The next step you will have two choices. Either use the Rooster tube and the bolt tube I
have provided or just the bolt tube twice. If you are just using the bolts then go to tubes
Or open the bolts up where you extracted them and put them on each end of the cart.
19. If you are going to use the Rooster then you need to once again create a new raster layer
then go to selections and choose Bolt1...Flood fill it with black. Deselect.
20. Now on the same layer choose Bolt2 from selections and flood fill it with gray #C0C0C0
and use the inner belevel with setting as in step 13. Deselect
21. You should now have 3 layers, Layer 1, Cart layer and layer 2. Create another layer which
will show as layer 3. Go to layers and then to arrange and click on Move down. Your layer
should now look like this.
On Layer 3 you will place your Rooster Tube letting his harness fit under the bolt you just
created on layer 2. Merge all layers visible except for layer 1.
22. On a brand new raster layer put your bolts tube and place it on the end opposite the rooster.
Now fill your cart... either with the veggie tube I provided or with other things of your choice.
NOW... you go to layer 1 and decorate it your way.
