Welcome
Welcome to our family’s page
We were married in December 1998 in Kirsten's hometown of Akron, Ohio. Our life changed in dramatic but wonderful way in October 2001 when Kirsten gave birth to a 7 lbs. 5 oz. baby boy. We named him Asher Michael Carr. He's now a preschooler. Things changed even more with the arrival of Joanna Elisabeth. Both kids are thin, blond, and blue eyed (just like their dad?!?)
I'm, Doug, a family practitioner in Logan, Ohio. My wife, Kirsten Came Carr, works as a speech-language pathologist for the Perry-Hocking Educational Service Center. I am member and past president of our local Rotary Club. I also serve on the Faith in Life committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio. Kirsten serves on the Hocking County Board of MR/DD. We are active members of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Kirsten graduated from the College of Wooster with a bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a master's from Ohio University. I received my M.D in 1992 from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I did my family medicine residency in Anderson, South Carolina. I've been practicing family medicine at Hocking Valley Community Hospital since the late summer of '95.
We've got a few pictures of our family on here.
“In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong...by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit
