My name is Dominic. I am a professional doumbek drummer, middle eastern style ( Doumek is also known as dumbek or egyptian tabla).
I grew up in Lebanon. I was 7 years old when I discovered my passion for percussion, and I've been drumming since. I enhanced my knowledge and skills by studying at a private music school first and then at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music. I also had the opportunity to play with multiple local bands. Besides percussion, my other passion is for the middle eastern flute (Nay) which gives my music more depth and tenderness.
Currently, I live in Lafayette Louisiana, where I teach doumbek drumming. Furthermore, I've been drumming for belly dancers all across southern Louisiana for the past year. And recently, I've founded the Al Layali middle eastern music band with the talented musician and dear friend Elias.
