The Dillon Family of Mid Missouri

Welcome to my Dillon Home Page.  Our family begins with Washington Dillon, born about 1823, in Virginia.  He came to Missouri with his wife, Nancy Peery, daughter of Solomon Peery, of Virginia.  In the 1850 Census, they lived in Montgomery County, Missouri. and had three children, Solomon, Ann, and baby Henry.  At some time between 1850 and 1854 the marriage between Washington and Nancy was dissolved.  We do not have proof of her death or any record of a divorce.  On August 5, 1854, he married Isabella O'Donnell, daughter of Thomas C. O'Donnell/Dannell, of Montgomery County, Missouri, in Audrain County, Missouri.  In 1857, a son, William Elihue Dillon was born, in Callaway County.  Tragedy hit the little family in the form of a fire, some time between 1857 and 1860, and the parents were killed in the fire.  William Elihue was sent to an orphanage and was raised by a family in Washington, Missouri.  William Elihue is my great-grandfather.
