| March Headline: The 1/3 List of 18 Acquired Freedoms: --you get to legally drive between 1-5AM, although there aren't a slug of plays in which to venture at that time (other than wal-mart or walgreens) --you get to vote (or at least cancel out votes of the evil pro-no edu people, haha) --you get to buy cigarettes, enlist in the army, get into nightclubs, gamble, get charged as an adult in a court of law, "drive to kansas" for their "fine beverages", buy illicit photographs, fall into your OWN debts...although none of those particular items are on my current to-do list, haha --you get to have your OWN Hastings/Blockbuster card...and you don't havta pay your mom's late fees anymore! Woo hoo! --i could "technically move out" (aka give up my bedroom), according to my lil sis --and best of all, you get MORE money in your b-day cards!! |

CHS Basketball...the boys finished up their season in District play, but dang, they were hot this season!! I guess we're supposed to sign trading cards and go to a couple schools here and there...those poor kiddies! (JK!!!) Hopefully, we'll be able to have SOME sort of impact on them. All Legislative Forums held at Hillards the last Friday of the month (4:15-5:15) Friday, Jan 31st Friday, Feb 28th Friday, Mar 28th Friday, April 25th I went to them last year, and you get to talk to all of our local representatives, ask them questions (and it's REALLY exciting when you get in arguments w/ random audience members...Yay, Erika! hehe), and get some free punch & cookies (the school ones! Mmmm). And then you just do a brief write-up of the happenings, etc...nothing too horrible **Also, it wasn't publicized too much, but you can also go to City Council Meetings at the City Hall (1st & 3rd Monday of the month) ***Sci-I Stuff:*** Judging Bode Science Fair (those who signed up): January 28th (7:30-12...early out day) [test-exempt] Rough "final" draft of St. Louis paper due: Feb 3rd (only those 10 selected for the trip) Judging John Glenn Science Fair (those who signed up): Feb 5th (TBA) [test-exempt] Mailing date to St. Louis for symposium (the 10 going on the trip, 2 copies): Feb 7th Judging District Jr. High MARSEF fair @ Civic Arena (JR/SR's who signed up w/ Coach McCoy ONLY): February 25th (TBA) [test-exempt] MARSEF/MJAS (Fair/Academy all day at MWSC...extra credit for all science students probably as well!): March 7th UMSL trip...March 12-15th [test-exempt] NHS/Student Gov't hosted the annual CANcoming the second week of December...Larry was DEthroned and Kathy Northup was given the crown over Mrs. Nelson...it was a SAD, sad day for Larry, but at least the school made a buttload of money! yay! (and the seniors at LEAST got princess/prince! haha)...NHS is currently in the progress of gathering more community projects (will probably be painted a mural before the year is over) The Europe & D.C. trips are underway!! Europe is gonna be flat-out awesome!! Nothin like 3 weeks in a foreign land with Mrs. Northup! hehe >>Meeting #2 - Thurs, 1/30, 7PM @ Alli Morrow's house<< TAG recently enjoyed an adventure-filled day at Lincoln Prep High School...we got to shadow their students for a day, and it was flippin awesome!! The big Imagination in the Classroom projects are due March 11th. Central kicked some major butt at the Science Knowledge Bowl, if I do say so myself on Jan. 25th...the team was comprised of Lisa "lil Raff" Raffensperger, "NastyNate" Price, Timmy Grier, Jake Thompson, and myself (we won 4/5 rounds...all the teams w/o a genius Asian-American teammember, hehe) Check out my CHS TENNIS GIRLS site All the Season Stats!
