“The Paranoids”

 

One layer of this image is a picture of the Beatles, which is meant to

represent the Paranoids, who Pynchon describes as being a group of

four young men who have Beatles haircuts and sing with Brittish accents

despite the fact that they are native Californians.  The other is simply an

artist’s rendition of music notes, which I felt was relevant due to the large

number of songs in this novel.
