The American Sewing Guild Mission Statement Advancing Sewing As
An Art and Life Skill
The Detroit Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is an organization for people who promote sewing as a creative and rewarding activity. The guild provides up to date sewing information and friendly support for sewers at all levels of experience.
Neighborhood Groups:
A chapter consists of many neighborhood groups that meet at different locations and times to fullfill the needs of the chapter members. Local neighborhood groups provide opportunities for sharing ideas and hands-on sewing experiences in a smaller more social atmosphere. Perfect for meeting other sewers with the same interests.
Chapter Advisory Board (CAB):
Our chapter operates under the guidance of a volunteer Chapter Advisory Board that keeps our members informed with the latest sewing related products, news and special events.
Publications:
All ASG members receive the American Sewing Guild's national publication Notions filled with an inspiring variety of projects and tips, the latest sewing industry news, new products and Guild news. In addition, the Detroit members receive the chapter newsletter Sew On and Sew On, which communicates chapter events, neighborhood group locations and activities, lists of discounts with local retailers and features special interest articles.
