The Destiny Ducks
About us
Hi, we're the ducks, Judy Cole and Peter Walduck in a former life!

Jude's a detribalised pom, who arrived in Sydney Australia in 1987, via a long stay in Southern Africa where she learnt to play a mean game of golf.

Peter, the duck, is a Queenslander all-round great sportsman, keen sailor and winning navigator in a Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

We met on Manly Golf Course where, after Jude  beat the duck at golf, he decided to introduce her to sailing. Big mistake, she took to it like the proverbial duck, which is why the plan to sail around the world and play all the great golf courses was hatched.
This is where Destiny, pictured above, enters the triumverate!

When we first spotted her she was 45ft of steel in need of tender loving care. We persuaded the owner to part with her, and for the past five years have stripped her naked,  and completely rebuilt her, so that now we have the boat of our dreams.

When we left on this circumnavigation we saw it as one large project, but in reality a circumnavigation starts and stops everytime you stay in one place for more than a couple of weeks. It's an almost endless series of seperate distinct voyages with a succession of hellos and goodbyes.

Now we've completed the loop having travelled 28,000Nm in 2 years and 9 months.
Sailing in through Sydney Heads on Sunday 9th Nov 2003 at 2.30pm was like a trip in a time machine! Apart from a few new buildings and a sprinkling of grey hairs, things and people are much the same, but life has gone on, without us!  We have a surreal feeling, did it really happen?

It's only when we see a map of the world, and browse this website, recalling the adventures and milestones, that we believe we really lived our DREAM.

It's taken a while but we now have our land legs and have settled back into "normal" life.
Duck is renovating the house we bought in Coffs Harbour that backs onto the 12th tee of the golf course. He's turning it into a "glamour", and getting back into the swing of things. He's started a business testing and tagging electrical equipment on the N.Coast of NSW, and is contracting on a part time basis to Coles Express.
Judy is based in Manly overlooking the Harbour on Sydney's Northern Beaches. She's reinvented herself as a Life Coach/ Facilitator, building a practice focused on helping "Baby Boomers" like her make a smooth transition from the workplace to a retirement they'll love, through Workshops and Coaching.
Connecting mature workseekers with employers who value experience and maturity is her passion. Why not visit her websites links below -
