No doubt you have wondered to yourselves, How can I unlock the mysteries that lie between truth and fiction? Where can I go to find crimefighting butlers? What is love? Toward the answers to these questions, and many more, allow me to bend your ears. For you have found Meniscus.

What is Meniscus? On the internet, it is a joint effort between the creator of the zine and comics, and the creator of our parent site (the Depot Devoid). They are Matt Fagan and Ian Fagan, respectively, and they graciously invite you to explore.
The more mundane explanation proceeds thusly: Meniscus is a zine that was created in the spring of 1998, inside a ramshackle two-story house in Portland, Oregon. Since that time, Meniscus has ceased publication, resumed publication, spawned a variety of side projects, moved to Chicago, and grown up to be fourteen issues long. However, it has always steadfastly remained a "Publication Dedicated to Upholding the Rights of the Ugly... but Not the Stupid." No longer content to be Meniscus, this zine has become Meniscus Enterprises, a media empire that also offers a number of comic selections, such as Domestic Partner of Frankenstein (a grim love story about a monster built from the bodies of middle-aged homosexual antiques appraisers), Pumpkin-Boy, Love, and Little Grandpa. Look around and find the latest news about the projects at Meniscus Headquarters, and don't be a stranger! Write us a letter, or read one of the fine zines or comics that we offer. Love Comics. The home page for Jack and Pokie, the charismatic stars of the comic serial Love. With three volumes completed and more on the way, Love is gearing up to be the sequential art event of the new millenium. The comic is featured in the Zine Yearbook vol. 8... can the Louvre be far behind? The site features samples from all volumes of Love, unpublished comics, and also includes a selection of Jack and Pokie desktop wallpaper for your downloading enjoyment! Check it out!

Gallery. The Meniscus Enterprises art gallery, featuring paintings and sculptures by your host, Matt Fagan. The gallery has been moved off-site because it was just too darn big. Right now, the real value of the gallery is that it houses the only remaining images of some paintings I've sold off, such as the one over here on the left. That one's called Living With the Bomb, and it was purchased by a nice boy with blue hair who has a zine called Sisyphean Task. I was glad he was the one who got it, because he obviously really really liked the painting, and I would much rather sell them cheaply to those who love the picture, than sell them for more money to some asshole.
