Jinx was owned by Bonnie Still-Hammond of Gettysburg, PA. Stormdancer Great Danes
Jinx apparently lived her life as a means for Bonnie Hammond to make a living. She supplied multiple litters that were sold for profit. Bonnie Hammond professes to love her dogs but when Jinx needed her most Bonnie Hammond allowed Jinx to die without medical care. Then to show how much she truly loved Jinx she threw her out on the trash heap in her back yard.
On May 19, 2004 Adams County Animal Control raided Bonnie Hammond's property. A search warrant was issued and the premises searched. The very first thing found on her property was Jinx's remains.
Bonnie Hammond claimed that when Jinx died the ground was frozen and she could not bury her. Information obtained by Animal Control allegies that Jinx gave birth to a litter of puppies in January 2004 and several months later became ill and died. The puppies, save one also died over a several week period after they were born and were thrown out with the trash. Bonnie Hammond did not seek medical attention for hte litter of ill puppies either. Animal Control and volunteers from Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League were not able to locate the puppies bodies in spite of their best efforts digging through the tremendous amount of piles of trash and tearing open numerous bags of trash.
Along with Jinx there was a crate with 4 dead guinea pigs that Bonnie Hammond said had been out there for 2 years. There were several dead turtles and numerous dead rats. |
