I woke up at 6 a.m. and realized that in fourteen hours I would be seeing a Cannibal Corpse concert. My twin sister was pissed that I woke her up, but I couldn't stop thinking about seeing "Unleashing the Bloodthirsty" or "Perverse Suffering" live. The day moved along agonizingly slowly.
I found my Live
Cannibalism shirt and put it on. I also grabbed my Euro digipack of Worms Infested,
thinking that if the band shows up at the club or on the street, maybe I could
get one of them to sign it.
The drive to Portland was too long, and I remember feeling antsy, until we stopped in Olympia for coffee. With a Venti coffee frappucino and an espresso brownie in hand, we walked out onto the street, which was named Legion Way! Legion's the head singer to one of George's favorite bands, Marduk!

We get to Roseland in Portland and find Jack in the lobby!!!! We hang out, he takes off and me and my twin sis buy Worm Infested shirts and drink a couple beers. Jack shows up again and I got to take this pic. Also--I got that copy of Worms Infested signed! \m/ I forgot to ask to see his calluses. Shit I knew this girl that played harp and she had ones that were as fat as green peas.
The set fucking ruled! They opened with the instrumental "From Skin to Liquid," and played songs from Gore Obssessed like "Drowning in Viscera," and "Pit of Zombies." My fav had to be "Devoured by Vermin," because it was so fast and exciting. George screamed and growled his way through a pretty awesome set! Despite having the stomach flu, Alex was breakneck fast as usual (such thick strings, too. Ouch!). Jack and Pat were fucking brutal on the guitars, I love how aggressive they can be, there's so many notes in each phrase. Last, and definitely not least, Paul was bashing the shit out of those drums, so much so that I think they had to repair them at either the Portland or Seattle show. I love how he can change up the tempo fast and also things he's doing is full of variety and that shit requires a lot of upper body strength and leg strength that I just don't have!
The Seattle show was just as good, or maybe even better, because we all knew the set list. I've never seen better concerts than the Seattle and Portland show, besides seeing them last April 2002. Nothing can beat a CC concert! I got this pic on the street after the Seattle show, this dude's my fucking idol, I wish I could sing as well as he can. But the rest of us are mere humans!
Pam's excited to talk to Alex, the God of Death Metal bass! Thanks guys for all your uncompromising, visciously brutal albums! I hope there's much more to come! \m/ When's the CC backstage footage DVD coming out? You know the one with all the girls, the fist fights, strangling record executives, devouring pizza, airing the dirty laundry, washing the dirty laundry, etc. You guys rule!!!
