The guinea pigs shown at right are two of around 10 guinea pigs available from the Montgomery County Humane Society, which operates two shelters in Rockville. The main shelter can be reached at 240-773-5960. The MCHS web site has two separate pages on which adoptable guinea pigs can usually be seen: "Foster Animals" and "Rescue Animals". Most guinea pigs are sent to foster homes or MCHS's rescue facility quickly, but sometimes guinea pigs can also be seen on a third page for shelter animals.
Wonka and Tate are a pair of 5-month-old guinea pigs available for adoption from Metropolitan Guinea Pig Rescue, which is based in Northern Virginia and adopts guinea pigs out to people living in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland. Over 20 other guinea pigs are also available.

Flocke and Tacita are a bonded pair of guinea pigs available for adoption from Small Angels Animal Rescue, which is based in Frederick, MD. Flocke has been neutered and Tacita has been spayed, so they can enjoy each other's company without there being any risk of pregnancy. A number of other guinea pigs are also available from Small Angels, along with chinchillas, degus, and other small animals.
