DeskPilot lets you view your PalmPilot data on your Windows95 or NT PC.

Features: Reads your Pilot Desktop files, so it is up-to-date whenever you hotsync. Displays Address Book, MemoPad, ToDo List and NEW! DateBook files. Alarms beep and pop up a window. (Can be disabled) System Tray Icon for 1-click access. Takes up only a small part of your screen, and 560K on your disk. Tabs and spacing match the Pilot, so your tables and charts still look good. Filters let you highlight or show only records containing a specified word. Configurable fonts. View MemoPLUS drawings.

Notes:

• If you use an alternate desktop program, like SideKick 98 (maybe others, too) instead of PalmPilot Desktop, files are stored in a different format that DeskPilot can't read.
• If you use Pilot Mirror, you can use the option to "Backup data to PalmPilot Desktop". These backup files are readable by DeskPilot.
• Address book entries that begin with a dash ("-") aren't alphabetized properly. Other characters like "_", "=" and "~" work fine. To keep entries beginning with a dash at the top of the list, you can insert a space after the dash.
• The Week View in the DateBook doesn't work yet. Any volunteers?

Disclaimer:

• This program was written for my own amusement. I have run it on Windows95 and NT 4.0. It has not done any damage to me or my computer, but I can't promise anything beyond that. Many other people have used it for a long time without incident, but I'm sure they won't promise anything either.
