Quick Summary and personal saga: I came to MPL in early Septemeber of 2004. There was absolutely 0 as in zilch, nada, nuthin, rien, "mem pas le soufle de un disc simple" in Montpellier. A pretty drastic change from playing three times a week. So, to make a long story short, we started playing twice a week and drew a significant interest from LOTS of different types. And we loved it, the newbies loved it, everyone loved it. So what do you do with a bunch a people who have just discovered Ultimate? You play a tournament. But what do you do when the tournament you wanted to play in gets canceled? You HAVE a tournament. And the MUP was born. And after a mere 3 months of planning, the MPL Ultimelting Potes were setting up fields on the nicest day MPL had seen in a while preparing for the ten teams from 4 different countries to come and tear the beach apart. And they did. It was beautiful. Lazer flicks, HUGE layouts, pinpoit hucks, high high skys, and the best spirit I have ever seen. Saturday went as flawlessly as possible with each team playing four games. The dinner and party that night were rockin. Beautiful buffet spread thanks my boy Bertrand over at the |
